I’ll be honest with you guys. It’s 10:10 PM EST, and I just finished watching day 1 of the WSOP Main Event Final Table. The action was fast and furious, and there were very few punts (though I will be writing about the two big hands Kenny Hallaert played vs. Michael Mizrachi). Normally I try to have an introduction that is thematically relevant to the hand I’m writing about, but I am tired and I need to get this post up for Wednesday morning, and I do not have an anecdote about Prague1 or a story about “Zeebo Theorem”2 or a general poker lesson about this hand. It’s a complex hand versus a tough opponent, where none of my decisions lost EV, but I did not play my sharpest. When you find an odd flop play, you need to be prepared to play all 47 turns, and in this hand I was not.
