POTD is primarily a strategy newsletter, but it’s also an archival project. I have a very good memory, but the longer I’ve lived and filled up my brain with more garbage, I am experiencing lapses in memory. Last week, I asked Stephen Chidick for some help to see if we could recreate the action of a hand we played and Pokernews reported on in Prague 2019— we failed (so far). Fortunately, I’ve played so many hands on live streams that I can dig through old streams or YouTube to find notable hands I’ve played.
When I search my name on YouTube for POTD research and/or vanity, one video regularly pops up.1 The video only has 360 views and it is from a relatively small-stakes tournament, but the title is a memorable one: “Who the F**K is Sam Greenwood?”. In Tuesday’s POTD, I wrote about a hand Fabiano Kowalski played on stream where he overbet the river on a paired board. I searched through my mental archive of hands that I had played which shared a theme with POTD #57, and I thought of the “Who the F**K is Sam Greenwood?” hand: a hand where I overbet the river on a paired board. In yesterday’s post I discussed that playing quads is harder than it looks; however, I can tell you it’s still easier than playing six high, which I am going to write about today.
