In POTD #25 I closed the “What I Got Wrong” section by writing:
This was not “just bad luck” for Mikita, who got a nice gift from me. Stay tuned to see if it’s the only one I give him at this FT (it isn’t).
In today’s newsletter, you get to read about the other gift I gave him at this final table. At some point in my life, I decided to start having stock answers to questions I frequently got asked. “What’s your favourite movie?” Just say GoodFellas: no need in letting others witness me deliberate for minutes about whether Barry Lyndon is “too obvious” a pick. The poker questions are standard: “What’s the biggest pot you played?”, “What’s the most you made in a day?”, and occasionally, “What’s the best or worst hand you’ve ever played?” I forget what my answer to the final question was before today’s hand took place, but I don’t have many poker hands that generated a YouTube video titled "OK, What the Hell is Sam Greenwood doing?" So this hand seemed like as good an answer as any’ may it never be topped. So today, I will do what we do here, and you will learn what the hell was Sam Greenwood thinking?
