POTD #137 EPT Online $25k vs Artur Martirosian

I'm doing commentary for a WCOOP $25k and I revisit an old online $25k.

Today I will be doing live commentary for the final table of the WCOOP SHR. You can watch the stream starting a 14:00 EST on the PokerStars Twitch channel. I will be picking a notable punt from the final table to write about at a later date. We have an international final table featuring a Brazillian, Russian, Belarussian, a Montengrin , a Kiwi and a Hungarian. There are some very skilled accomplished poker players at this final table and also some legendary punters and in many cases, both. It should be an exciting final table and I’m excited to get in the booth for it.

Today’s hand is from a PokerStars online $25k, but not from a WCOOP 25k, it was from the EPT Online 25k that took place in 2020 when COVID-19 made it impossible to host an in person EPT. That tournament that was won by Finnish legend Eelis Pärssinen, who beat Christian Rudolph heads up. I doubled up early on in that tournament and was in a good position to put gain the chiplead when I made a flush vs the chip leader, Artur Martirosian. I failed to get maxiumum value and eventually, failed to cash the tournament. Missing a value raise with a great hand is not the sexiest of punts, but it can be amongst the costliest. Here’s hoping that during today’s stream we see some punts a little more thrilling than the one I am writing about today.
